FISHING REPORT
July 31st Main Lake Water Temp.
78 Degrees
The Lake elevation is at 3783.84 and has
dropped only slightly over the past week. The Main Lake is clear.
Fishing hasn't really changed much over the last week. We are really
locked into a Summer pattern, and are likley to remain there for
the next few weeks. There are fish being caught, you just have to
work at it!
Bass-Jimmy Liles, of Logan, brought a 4 lb. 9 ounce
Largemouth to the scales last Thursday. Jimmy wasn't talking, but
my best guess is that it was caught on a Topwater Bait. He also
had 2 nice Smallies to go along with it. His total bag would have
been 8 lbs., or a little better. I did manage to catch a couple
of fishThursday, both of them came on a Wacky Rigged Senko thrown
into grass beds. Tubes are working some for Smallies fished on the
edge of the grass in 15 feet of water. When you catch a keeper,
work the area over real well. I am finding more than one keeper
Bass in a small area.
Walleye-Lance Anderson, of Albuquerque, had a couple
of keeper Walleye on Jigging Spoons over the weekend. Lance told
us he was working them in 25 to 30 feet of water. We also had one
one report of a few being caught on 'Crawlers fished at the same
depth.
White Bass-The Whites are hanging in the same depth-25
to 30 feet. Jigging Spoons are working on them, as well. I saw a
pretty large School over in Peyton Canyon this past week. They were
on the end of a point, and stayed in the area for quite a while.
The Shad are starting to show up more, so the White Bass fishing
should start to improve.
Catfish-Nightcrawlers fished at night are producing
a few Channel Cat in the 2 lb. range.
Crappie-No Reports.
We really appreciate it when you folks stop by and
let us know how your day on the Lake has gone. That has a lot to
do with getting this report put together every week. We need your
input to make it work!
Until next week, TIGHT LINES AND GOOD FISHING!
